Submissions include nearly 300 feature films and over 200 short films from across the world.
The event is aimed to give a chance for local and international film makers to meet, exchange experiences and thoughts.
In addition to a top award of US$5,000 for the best feature film, the event will also honour other works with awards for the best short film, the best feature film director and the best actors in leading roles among others.
In the framework of the 4th HANIFF, competitions, HANIFF campus, a film project campus, conferences and exhibitions will be arranged.
The event is to be held by the Ministry of Culture Sports and Tourism (MOCST) and the Ha Noi People's Committee.
Films to the festival will be screened free of charge in a number of movie houses in Ha Noi.
The ceremonies will be broadcast live on VTV1 and VTV2 channels./.
