The Hanoi People's Committee on April 3 issued Plan No.19/KH-VP to organize the Pho Festival 2025.
The event aims to promote the image of Hanoi pho, which has been recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage, and contribute to the development of Hanoi's culinary cultural industry.
This year's festival will feature more than 50 booths from pho businesses and brands representing all three regions of Vietnam. They will showcase and promote their pho specialties and brand identities.
All participating businesses and brands are required to carefully select and prepare their products to ensure high quality and food safety. The festival will offer a wide variety of pho dishes, including the signature Hanoi-style pho and regional variations from across the country.
The event will serve as a cultural bridge, honoring and connecting businesses, craft villages, and brands while introducing Vietnamese cuisine to Hanoi locals, domestic visitors, and international friends.
Organized by the Hanoi Convention Center, the Hanoi Department of Tourism, the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, and Nhan Dan Newspaper, the festival will take place from April 18 to April 20, 2025 at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel in Ba Dinh District.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 6 pm on April 18 with about 150 delegates and guests expected to attend.
During the festival, there will be a wide range of activities, including exhibitions on the culture and traditions of pho, a special culinary experience area featuring Hanoi cuisine, panel discussions, and art performances.
The event will be widely promoted through the city's official web portal, the tourism department's website, the iHanoi app, social media platforms, the festival fanpage, digital channels such as TikTok and YouTube, the Hanoi Radio and Television, and central and local media outlets.
The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee will coordinate with city departments and agencies to lead the organization of the festival. The Ba Dinh District People's Committee, the Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, Nhan Dan Newspaper, and other relevant units will be in charge of organizing the festival.
The Hanoi Department of Tourism will work with the Hanoi Convention Center and the Office of the Hanoi People's Committee to develop media content and promotional materials for travel agencies, tour groups, and hospitality establishments to attract both domestic and international tourists to the event.
The Ba Dinh District People's Committee will promote the Pho Festival 2025 through its local information systems to reach residents and visitors in the area.
The Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center will coordinate with the Hanoi Convention Center and event organizers to provide logistical support and venue arrangements.
The center will also introduce the festival to visitors at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, highlighting Hanoi pho as a national intangible cultural heritage and promoting the festival as a must-see tourism destination.
