HN becomes pioneer in electricity demand management

VGP – The Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee has issued a plan to implement the National Program on electrical energy efficiency in the local city in the 2018-2020 period.

The move aims to realize the PM’s Decision on electricity demand management.

Accordingly, Ha Noi will be one of the leading localities in enforcing the Program.

The plan targets to implement technical, socio-economic solutions for demand side management (DSM) .

It aims to reduce peak load capacity of the national electricity system by 300 MW by 2020; 1,000 MW by 2025; and 2,000 MW by 2030.

The plan centers to increase the number of customers of the National Program on DSM and encourage them to install solar energy system in the city.

In addition, it also targets to integrate with other programs in efficient energy consumption and roadmap on developing a smart electricity grid .

The plan also sets to invest in and upgrade the electricity system, IT system, and infrastructure system.

Finally, the plan targets to connect the Department of Education and Training, the Department of Information and Communications, People’s Committees of districts and communes to raise people’s awareness of efficient electricity consumption./.
