Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh on June 9 issued Decision No.2844/QD-UBND to establish 11 task forces responsible for directing and guiding the restructuring of commune-level administrative units across the city.
According to the decision, the People's Committee appointed 11 senior officials as heads of the task forces.
These include Standing Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son, Deputy Chairpersons Nguyen Trong Dong, Duong Duc Tuan, Nguyen Manh Quyen, and Vu Thu Ha, Chief of the Office of the People's Committee Truong Viet Dung, Director of the Hanoi Department of Home Affairs Tran Dinh Canh, Director of the Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Xuan Dai, Director of the Hanoi Department of Finance Nguyen Xuan Luu, Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports Bach Lien Huong; and Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training Tran The Cuong.
Each task force includes division-level officials and staff members from various municipal departments and agencies.
Their mission is to lead, inspect, supervise, guide, and resolve difficulties faced by the current 30 districts and towns, and 126 post-overhaul commune-level administrative units during the reorganization process.
The task forces are also responsible for studying and proposing solutions to the municipal government and its Chairman, while proactively addressing urgent and cross-sectoral issues to ensure that the restructuring complies with directives from the central government and the city.
Each task force head will be held accountable to the Chairman of the People's Committee for overseeing and guiding the administrative reorganization in their assigned localities.
The decision takes effect from June 9, 2024. The task forces will automatically disband after August 31, 2025.
