The Central Council of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization on April 25 launched a nationwide contest titled "I Love Vietnam" for children to sing the national anthem at historic sites across the country.

The contest aims to inspire national pride, nurture patriotism, and educate children on revolutionary ideals and the Vietnamese tradition of "remembering the source while drinking water."

It also commemorates major national milestones: 50 years of national reunification, 84 years since the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization, 135 years since the birth of President Ho Chi Minh, and 80 years since the August Revolution and National Day (September 2).

The contest gives children the opportunity to express their love for the country, said Le Anh Quan, Vice Chairman of the Central Council and Director of the Vietnam Children's Support and Development Center.

"It's a chance for them to revisit history, listen to the stories of the past, and develop gratitude and a desire to help build the nation," he said.

Taking place from April to September 2025, the contest is open to members of the Young Pioneers and other children studying at primary and secondary schools, as well as youth centers and children's houses nationwide.

The event encourages participants to visit historic locations that honor heroic deeds and sacrifices, and to proudly sing the National Anthem together as a tribute to Vietnam's legacy.

Contestants, either as individuals or in groups, are required to submit video clips no longer than 7 minutes. Each participant may enter up to three submissions. The competition will award a total of 20 prizes: one first prize, three second prizes, six third prizes, and 10 encouragement prizes.
