This is one of 250 projects launched nationwide to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), and also among 10 online connection points organized by Hanoi.

Overview of the event.
Present at the ceremony were Nguyen Lan Huong, a member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, along with leaders of municipal departments and agencies, and a large number of local residents.
The Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway will stretch 390.9 kilometers in total, with 37.5 kilometers running through Hanoi, crossing the communes of Tien Thang, Quang Minh, Phuc Thinh, Thu Lam, Phu Dong, and Thuan An.
For Hanoi, the land clearance requirement is estimated at about 245.2 hectares.
Although the railway will not directly pass through Dong Anh Commune, two sites within its territory have been selected for compensation, support, and resettlement infrastructure construction.
The first is the Duc Tu 3 land auction site, covering 6.0019 hectares, approved by the former Dong Anh District People's Committee under Decision 15504/QD-UBND dated December 9, 2022.
The second is the western area of Dan Di Road, covering 15.7523 hectares, with its detailed planning adjustment approved under Decision 7648/QD-UBND dated July 17, 2024.
Both areas have largely completed land clearance and are ready to move into the technical infrastructure construction phase.

Delegates at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nguyen Van Thieng, Chairman of the Dong Anh Commune People's Committee, emphasized that being entrusted by the central and city authorities to implement this resettlement project is both a great honor and a heavy responsibility for the local Party Committee, government, and people.
He noted that the commune had focused its leadership, taken decisive measures, and intensified communication and mobilization to build consensus among residents.
"Thanks to these efforts, land clearance for the resettlement areas has been essentially completed, creating favorable conditions for the project to break ground on schedule," said Thieng.
Looking ahead, Dong Anh Commune will continue finalizing compensation and support policies for households whose land has been reclaimed, ensuring their legitimate rights and helping them stabilize their lives and production.
At the same time, the commune will urge contractors to accelerate construction, complete essential infrastructure such as electricity and water, and be ready to receive resettled households. In addition, adjacent projects will be implemented in sync, with infrastructure connections forming a high-quality, modern, and well-planned new urban area.
The resettlement project in Dong Anh Commune will not only directly support the regional lifeline railway but also hold major political significance. It will contribute to realizing the strategy for developing strategic infrastructure and create momentum for Hanoi's and the nation's socioeconomic growth.
On this groundbreaking day, officials and residents of Dong Anh expressed their determination to complete this component project as quickly as possible, contributing to Hanoi's efforts to mark the 80th anniversary of National Day with meaningful and practical achievements.
