With the theme "Enhancing Responsibility and Promoting the Role of Journalism and Media in Building and Developing the Capital City of Hanoi," the seminar serves as a meaningful activity to commemorate three important milestones.
These include the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025), and the 80th National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025).
Through this occasion, the city affirms and recognizes the significant contributions of journalism and media to the cause of building, protecting, and developing both the capital and the nation.
The seminar is scheduled to take place in August 2025 with the participation of 120 delegates.
The Department of Culture and Sports will preside over the event in coordination with the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commissions of the City Party Committee, the Hanoi Journalists Association, the Office of the People's Committee, and the Capital Youth Newspaper.
Seminar Content
First, the seminar will highlight the role of journalism in disseminating the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State on the directions and tasks for the development of Hanoi.
Second, the seminar will emphasize the role of journalism in promoting and safeguarding the ideological foundation of the Party, countering hostile viewpoints and harmful information, contributing to the preservation of political stability and social order, and strengthening public trust in the Party's leadership in the capital city.
Third, the seminar will address the role of journalism in the process of digital transformation, the building of e-government, and the development of a smart city.
Fourth, the seminar will discuss the need to strengthen coordination between the Party Committee, the city government, and the press in order to build a transparent information environment and foster public confidence in the process of building and developing Hanoi.
Fifth, the seminar will explore solutions for the development of Hanoi's press sector to meet practical requirements and align with modern media trends, ensuring effective communication of the city's political tasks.
Sixth, the seminar will propose solutions to reform organizational models, improve professional capacity, strengthen ethical standards, and enhance political integrity among journalists working in the capital today.
The seminar provides an opportunity for experts, leaders of press management agencies, media organizations, and journalists to exchange practical experiences and contribute ideas on the tasks and solutions for the development of Hanoi.
