Hanoi commits to advancing Vietnam's new era of development

Hanoi possesses all the necessary elements to lead in building the "New Era – The Nation's Era of Rising.

The Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee on December 6 held a citywide key leadership conference to launch a political initiative focused on studying, disseminating, and promoting the guiding ideology and major directions of the Party and General Secretary To Lam under the theme: "A New Era – The Nation's Era of Rising."

During the conference, Professor and Doctor Phung Huu Phu, former Central Party Committee member, former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, and former Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, presented key points on the guiding ideology and major directions of the Party and General Secretary To Lam regarding the theme "A New Era – The Nation's Era of Rising."

Prof. Phu praised the proactive and decisive approach of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee in launching this political initiative to study, disseminate, and implement the guiding ideology and strategic directions of the Party's and General Secretary To Lam. He said that Hanoi has consistently set an exemplary standard for the nation in implementing major policies of the Party.

The ideology of General Secretary To Lam, as affirmed by the 10th Plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee, represents a new policy and strategic direction for national development. This ideology holds significant political importance and is to be incorporated into the documents of the 14th Party Congress, widely disseminated throughout the Party, the people, and the military, and implemented with high political resolve.

In this context, Prof. Phu analyzed the critical aspects of the Party's and General Secretary To Lam's strategic directions, highlighting seven key orientations, including reforming the Party's leadership methods, strengthening the rule-of-law socialist state, streamlining administrative structures, advancing digital transformation, and combating wastefulness.

Concluding his lecture, Prof. Phu asserted that Hanoi possesses all the necessary elements to lead in building the "New Era – The Nation's Era of Rising."

He noted that with the 2024 revision of the Capital Law and Resolution 15, Hanoi has been provided with a robust legal framework that allows for unique mechanisms under the principle of "Hanoi decides, Hanoi acts, Hanoi takes responsibility." These conditions position Hanoi to spearhead the nation's rise in this new era.

Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the city's pioneering role in implementing the Party's and General Secretary To Lam's vision. He highlighted the city's ongoing efforts in urban planning, administrative reform, and cultural development, as well as its role as a political, cultural, and economic hub. He affirmed that with over 480,000 Party members, including many senior experts and leaders, Hanoi's Party Committee is the largest in the nation and well-equipped to undertake this historic mission.

Looking ahead, Deputy Secretary Nguyen Van Phong outlined the need for the city's Party organizations, from the central to grassroots levels, to earnestly implement the directive detailed in Plan No. 284-KH/TU. This three-month initiative, running from December 2024 to February 2025, will involve specialized sessions and materials prepared by the Party's Propaganda Department.

He called for a concerted effort to align theory with practice, ensuring Hanoi remains exemplary in realizing the strategic vision of the "New Era – The Nation's Era of Rising." He stressed that the city must embody innovation, responsibility, and determination to fulfill its leadership role in this transformative period for the nation.
